The term Social Justice is a concept of practical fairness.
It focuses a lot on the distribution of wealth, opportunities, and social privileges.Supporters want to see the equal of opportunity for all persons despite where they come from. Many Asian cultures show this inequality. In such cultures, individuals have societal roles which they are expected to fulfill.
Lately, social justice supporters have been busy trying to get rid of barriers that keep people from achieving a desirable level of living. A desirable level of living is one where they support the institution of safety nets or basic benefits (in the form of taxation, social insurance, public health, public schooling, public services, labour laws and regulations that govern equal opportunity in employment and trade).
Social Justice means equity rather than equality is more important. This means that resources are not distributed to everyone in the same way.
Now, some people see social justice as one that encourages political opportunism and intellectual laziness. Thus, they see the state continually seeking political power in order to do “good things”. Listen to the video below and think of the purposes of social justice.
