How to Work with Fractions

The ability to computing fractions is important and relevant for today. Primarily, it is used for making estimates.

Lets begin with adding mixed numbers. Easy!!

ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION OF FRACTIONS WITH SAME DENOMINATOR

Adding fractions can be quite easy. There are three steps in adding fractions:

  1. Make sure the bottom numbers (the denominators) are the same.
  2. Add the top numbers (the numerators) only.
  3. Simplify the fraction if needed.

Let’s look at an example:
